August house sales bounce back

House prices in England and Wales rose fractionally in August, compared with July, according to the latest LSL/Acadametrics index. However, the monthly gain of 0.3% was buoyed by a 1.6% rise in London property prices and at £219,078, the value of the typical home showed a 2.2% year-on-year fall.
